Adult Bible Study

 

All are welcome to come and join the adult Sunday School class taught by George Ferrer on Sunday mornings at 9:45. They will be starting a new study on spiritual devotion:  “Finding Intimacy with God.” It is about how the “joyful abandon” to the will of our loving Father is what we need to move from dry obedience to enthusiastic cooperation. We will study God’s love and devotion for us which gives us the courage and faith to passionately know Him.

 

L I Teen Challenge Annual Banquet

 

It’s their 18th anniversary and the guest speaker is Jacqui Strothoff who was the guest speaker at the 2007 WM Conference.  The Banquet will take place at the Melville Marriott on Friday, May 2nd at 7pm.  Cost is $40.00 per ticket.  Make checks payable to Shirley Assembly and give them to Mary Mirandona no later than Sunday, April 13th.  Please sign up at the Welcome Center if you plan to attend.

 

Men’s Sunday School Class

 

Many men fail to realize their dreams because they choose comfort over character, image over substance, and escape over endurance.  Beginning March 30th, the Men’s Sunday School Class will start a new study on “Being God’s Man in Tough Times.”  Through the life of David, this study will show how God uses hardships and losses as tools to shape and equip men to respond to life’s difficulties in the power and wisdom of God. Don’t miss this exciting new series. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. Bring your Bible and a cup of coffee and let’s get into God’s word together. All men are welcome to attend.

 

Vacation Bible School

 

VBS is scheduled for the week of July 7 through 11.  There will be a few meetings leading up to that week scheduled for June 10, 17, 24, and July 1st.  Time for the meetings will be announced in the near future.  If you have signed on as staff for VBS, it is important that you make these meetings.  Please speak with Sis. Lisa Shaw if you would like to join the staff of teachers, helpers and workers for this exciting week of children’s ministry.

 

Women’s Ministry

 

If you would like to attend the 2008 Conference, please make a deposit of $35.00 as soon as possible, and give it to Mary Mirandona, or place your check or cash in a blue offering envelope and designate it for “2008 WM Conference.”  If you are paying by check, make it payable to Shirley Assembly and note in the memo section “2008 WM Conference.”  There are six reservations remaining.

Lost & Found

 

Our Lost & Found is growing.  We have jewelry and car keys piling up!  If you’ve ever lost a piece of jewelry or a car key that you thought you might have misplaced at home or lost somewhere else, please give us a call and see if we have it here at church.

 

Tape & CD Ministry

 

When ordering a disc or tape of a service, please pay at the time of your order so we can process it and have the copy ready for your pickup by the next service.  If you have ordered tapes or CD’s of services, please pick them up at the sound room.
